Crossovers: This is a
combination of MIF & Dance group lessons and
skaters are given an opportunity to receive
private instruction from the coaches. The private
lesson is included in the package. Skaters may be
offered a choice of coaches but this is not
guaranteed. Skaters are taught how to work on
skills on their own and may begin working on
Freestyle and compulsory programs for tests or
competitions. This is also where skaters will
learn the etiquette needed to participate in the
program ice sessions.
Program Ice: This is a
contract just to buy ice time for private lessons
and practice of advanced skating skills. Coaching
fees and or lessons are not included and should be
arranged with a particular coach before you sign
up for the ice time.
Synchronized Skating: This
is a team sport with the goal of competing in
several competitions each year. Skaters must meet
skill or testing requirements. Cost of the ice
time, coaching fees, costumes and competition fees
are divided by the skaters participating on the
team.
Clinics: Several times a
year the Club will bring in a guest coach to work
on specific advanced skills such as double and
triple jump technique, choreography and style,
spins, MIF's etc. Skaters who participate in the
clinic pay for this persons regular coaching fees,
transportation, food and lodging. Ice time is
usually extra.
Note: Parents who are not sure
which program their child should participate in
should talk to their current coach or a Basic
skills committee member.
