Synchronized Skating

Synchronized skating involves a team of eight or more skaters skating various maneuvers and formations to music.
A good synchronized teams skating programs contains maneuvers including circles, lines, blocks, wheels and intersecting moves linked together harmoniously by a variety of transitions.  Transitions are maneuvers a teams uses to switch from one formation to another...a good transition is on that makes you wonder, "How did they do that?"  Speed and accuracy of team movements in the formations and transitions is important.
Not every figure skating club offers synchronized skating.  Synchronized (formerly called "Precision") team skating has been a part of the Timberline Figure Skating Club since 1988.  Interest in and support for Synchronized skating has continued to grow.  During the 1998-99 season, more than 40 TFSC skaters were member of 3 levels of synchronized team skating.
The 98-99 skating season also saw two of the teams traveling to the Mid-West sectional competition which was held in Huntsville, Alabama.  The participation of the TFSC "Cutting Edge" Synchronized Skating Teams at this competition level set new standards of opportunity for TFSC participants in this sport.  In addition to the Sectional competition, the "Teen-Intro" level "Cutting Edge" team competed in the 1st National "State Games" which were held in St. Louis, Missouri during the summer months.
The Timberline Figure Skating Club is a Member of the United States Figure Skating Association.  The TFSC "Cutting Edge" Synchronized Skating Teams will abide by all rules and regulations set forth for synchronized skating teams by the USFSA.
